Look Good, Feel Better Support

Look Good, Feel Better Support is a support group for women currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.  Their aim is to address self-esteem problems that often accompany cancer treatment.  They meet the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m.  Each meeting has a professional cosmetologist teach the women how to apply make-up, wigs, and other cosmetics.  It’s completely free.

Rex Lee Run Against Cancer

Set your calendars for the Rex Lee Run Against Cancer, Saturday March 17th, at Brigham Young University! The cost for the run is $15 for the 5K run and $20 for the 10K run on or before March 16th. There is an additional $5 fee on the day of the race. Proceeds will go to the BYU Cancer Research Center to fund cancer research at BYU. Invite all your friends using the facebook group! Hamberlin Benefit Concert

Nik Day, a favorite Provo artist just sent me this email. I love his music and love this cause.

"Hey, guys! Just a little update on what's going on in my life. I'm playing a benefit concert for Amy Hamberlin who discovered that she had several brain tumors that have to be surgically removed. It's this Saturday,  January 28, at 7:00 at the Tabernacle in Rexburg, Idaho (51 N. Center), and tickets are $5 to get in. We will also accept any other donations that you would like to contribute. Vote for Coach Rose in the Coaches' Charity Challenge

For six weeks, the nation's top coaches will be counting on fans like you to help their favorite charity. Vote for BYU coach Dave Rose and the Children with Cancer Christmas Foundation in the West Region

We are out to a solid lead, but daily voting is the name of the game. The coaches receiving the most votes in each region gain a spot in the finals, with the winning coach receiving $100,000 toward his charity (each coach will get $5,000 for his favorite cause). 

About the Children’s with Cancer Christmas Foundation

Founded by Mac Boyter, a cancer survivor who saw the needs of a family with a child battling cancer around the Christmas season, Children with Cancer Christmas Foundation was formed in 1998. CCCF has since provided assistance to approximately 250 families.

Rose and his wife Cheryl and the BYUbasketball team have been involved with the charity for more than 12 years.

Beyond the Pink Moon

 I am pleased to highlight the first group, of which I am an honored member, Beyond the Pink Moon. I found this group on Facebook while trying to find resources for women with breast cancer. They welcomed me into their group and instantly I was surrounded with support and resources.
